Perpetuem Provides Carbohydrates, Protein & Fatty Acids
Even well trained endurance athletes have a finite store of glycogen. For most of us glycogen stores are exhausted during the first 90 minutes. After that we need to consume carbohydrates for energy. Maltodextrin is the carbohydrate source found in Perpetuem and this complex-carb reduces the risk of stomach and GI issues. While exercising, we can't assimilate as many calories per hour as we burn, so our body must make up the difference by utilizing fat stores and breaking down protein for energy. Perpetuem contains fatty acids as a fuel source which also aids the metabolism of body fat reserves. Beyond 2 hours, our bodies begin to breakdown protein to oxidize amino acids for energy. Unless you ingest protein in your endurance fuel, your body will steal it from muscle tissue. Perpetuem prevents muscle cannibalization by providing 7 grams of soy protein. Perpetuem is Designed for Training & Racing 2 to 24+ Hours
